What Is The Difference Between Single-Spaced And Double-Spaced When You Are Writing a Dissertation

While writing a dissertation, you will have to come across two types of spacing. First is known as line spacing and the second is known as paragraph spacing. If we talk about line spacing, then we come to know that the amount of vertical spacing in a document is known as line spacing. In other words, the spacing between two lines is known as line spacing and the space between two paragraphs is known as paragraph spacing. The line spacing is also divided into two types. First is known as single spacing and the second is known as double spacing. If you don’t know about single spacing and double spacing in a dissertation, then you can get help from dissertation writing services. The possible difference between single spacing and double spacing is given below;

Single spacing
While writing a dissertation, the students can easily select single-spacing for a line or a paragraph just by clicking on the design tab. The single spacing is done to customize the documents in the required size and format. If you are using Word 2013, then its default spacing is set on the 1.08 which is slightly more than single spacing. Due to this slight change in the spacing, you can’t adjust the length of the document. In order to select single spacing, the students should click on the design tab. After that, the students should click on the line or paragraph spacing. Before changing the spacing of a particular paragraph, the students should try to select that particular paragraph. On the other hand, if you want to change the spacing of the whole document, then you will have to select the whole document. After that, you should click on the Home tab. In the Home tab, the students should click on the line and paragraph spacing. After clicking on the line and paragraph spacing, there is a lot of dialogue boxes will open and the students should try to select on 1.0. Therefore, you have selected the desired spacing for your dissertation.

Double spacing
Sometimes, it is the requirement of your university and advisor to select double spacing for your dissertation. The double spacing is also done to adjust the length of a document. Here, we will also discuss the process to change the default spacing of Word 2013 to double spacing. As we know that the default spacing of the Word 2013 is 1.08. This default spacing is less than the required spacing. In order to select the double spacing, it is also an unavoidable thing for the students to click on the Design tab. After clicking on the design tab, a lot of dialogue boxes will open and the students should try to click on the paragraph spacing. Like the single spacing, the students should also select either a particular paragraph or the whole document. After that, the students should click on the Home tab and also click on the Line and Paragraph spacing. For double spacing, the students should click on 2.0. Therefore, you have selected the desired double-spacing for your dissertation.
